Obituary

Mr. James F. "Jay" DeLuca, Sr., 80, a life-long resident of Lawrence passed away on Thursday, August 15th, 2013 at the Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 6th, 1933 in Lawrence, son of the late Salvatrice "Sally" (Stagno) and Joseph DeLuca, Sr.

Jay was educated in the local schools of Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence and worked as a Union Plasterer for various companies in the area. Jay served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Elks of Wakefield, MA., the V.F.W. in North Andover, MA and of the Amvets of Haverhill.

According to Jay's family he enjoyed hunting and gun collecting, loved to fish, being outdoors, and would especially love to take his yearly trips to Oregon to visit his grandchildren. Another memory the family shared was that he would always be working, during the week, weekends and with friends doing home projects.

Brother-in-law: Ed Eichhorn of No. Andover, MA
Sister-in-law: Nancy DeLuca of Derry, NH
As well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence, MA. Private Burial.
