Obituary

WORCESTER: Robert P. Herrie, Sr., 69, died Monday, August 12, 2013 after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 9 in front of the Lakeview Apartments in West Brookfield.
He leaves 3 sons, Robert P. Herrie, Jr., Kane Herrie, James O’Day; a daughter, Meghan O’Day; a brother, Alan Herrie, Sr.; a sister, Joan Martunas; 4 beautiful granddaughters, Victoria and Emma Herrie, Brionna O’Day, Alanna LaSalle; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Peter Herrie, Jr., and a grandson, Jonathan “Buggy” LaSalle, both predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Peter Herrie, Sr. and Dorothy (Parker) Herrie. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and lived most of his life in Worcester. He served in the Army National Guard.
Bob was a self-employed carpenter and general contractor in the Worcester area for many years. He had a passion for gardening and will affectionately be remembered by his friends and family as “Ranger Bob”.
In memory of Bob, his family invites you to visit with them from 1 to 3 P.M. on SATURDAY, AUG. 17, at the home of his niece Dawn Herrie-Hidenfelter, 199 McCormick Rd in Spencer.
