Obituary

Vivien Marie (Borrebach) England, 101, of Falmouth, died August 14th after a brief illness.

Born on November 12, 1911, in New York City, she was the daughter of Bernard Marie Borrebach and Adrienne Marie (Thérien) Borrebach.

She moved with her family to Massachusetts at the age of two, and was educated in the Medford, Massachusetts public schools. She was a long time resident of Winchester, Massachusetts and spent summers at her lakeside cottage in New Hampshire and winters on Longboat Key, Florida.

Vivien volunteered throughout her life, contributing her time to the Winchester Hospital, the Libby Museum and Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, NH and other charitable organizations.

She was a talented gardener and always had a beautifully arranged bouquet of fresh flowers on her table.
She kept a lovely home, filled with antiques and needlework that she hand-crafted. Her skill as a cook was undiminished even as she approached her late nineties.

Vivien enjoyed traveling, including cruises and a trip to Holland to visit her Dutch relatives. She was an avid bridge player, an ardent Red Sox and Patriots fan and a lover of poetry and literature.

She was a beautiful and very intelligent woman of many talents. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Lawrence Russell England, two sisters, Virginia Marie Borrebach, who died at the age of 14, Edith Carolyn (Borrebach) Aldrich of Cape Cod, and a brother, William Bernard Borrebach of Pennsylvania.

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Thérien (England) Snow of Falmouth, ME, Vicky Loring England of California, a son, Lawrence Russell England Jr. and his wife, Bernice of Wolfeboro, NH, and a brother, Edwin John Borrebach and his wife, Fran of Pennsylvania.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lyndy and her husband Robert, Jennifer and her husband Pierre, Sarah and her husband Neil, and Matthew, three great-grandchildren, Andrew, William, and Tabitha and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are private.
