Mary Ann Harrell Waldrop, 71, of Tifton died Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemtery. Rev. Keith Burch will officiate with a eulogy to be given by Rev. Robert Beggs. Zack Waldrop, Jimmy Waldrop, Alex Waldrop, Hank Mullis, Terry Mayne and Bob Harrell will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 16, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be meeting and receiving friends at 37 Sand Creek Road in Tifton.
Mrs. Waldrop was born on May 6, 1942 in Tift County and was the daughter of Robert Lee “Dick” Harrell and Mildred Louise Rogers Harrell, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack Harrell; and one sister, Sue Harrell Aldridge. She was a retired paraprofessional with the Tift County Board of Education for 25 years. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Waldrop is survived by her husband, Wendell Waldrop of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Tonia Waldrop of Tifton; two daughters, Angie Scarberry of Ocilla and Marilyn Curtis of Carnesville; and three grandchildren, J. J. Scarberry and his wife Meagan of Rising Sun, Maryland, Courtney and Amber Waldrop of Tifton and Ashley Autry of Commerce.
