Katherine G. (Buckley) Abrams, 95, of Mattapoisett died Friday September 3, 2004 peacefully at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion. She was the wife of the late William Abrams, Jr.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Frank and Kate (Fryer) Buckley, she lived the later part of her life in Mattapoisett.
Mrs. Abrams was formerly employed in the trust department of Merchant's National Bank and later at the Atlas Tack Company.
In her youth, she sang in local theater productions and on the first radio station in this area with her sisters. She also sang with the Sweet Adelines, the Mattapoisett Congregational Church Choir and the Mattapoisett Womens Club Chorus.
Mrs. Abrams was an avid bowler and golfer. She was a member of the Reservation and Little Harbor Golf Clubs.
Survivors include a nephew, Paul F. Sylvia of Dartmouth; 2 nieces, Patricia Tate of Mattapoisett and Gail Bigelow of Florida, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
A time of private remembrance will be planned for family and friends at a future date.
