DOROTHY MARGARET (ARNOLD) VALENTINO, 81, a Hingham resident for 60 years, passed away of pancreatic cancer on Monday, Aug. 12th, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Tazewell, Tennessee where she was raised on a farm. She was recruited by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC and was associated with the FBI Personnel Dept. While in Washington, DC she met her husband of 60 years, Daniel G. Valentino. Mrs. Valentino was also associated with the Town of Hingham Treasurer's Office retiring in 1992.
She loved her family and friends and enjoyed weekly card games, dominos, family Sunday dinners and especially her grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
In addition to her husband Danny, she leaves her two daughters; Terri (Valentino) Healey and her husband Lawrence and Lorri (Valentino) Costello and her husband Jack all of Hingham. Sister of Joyce Ramos of Hawaii, Sharon Arnold of Tennessee and the late Pete Arnold. Also survived by her 4 grandchildren; Marisa Podolski and her husband Andy, Sarah and Alyce Costello and Leanna Healey and one great grandson, Cameron Podolski.
Funeral Friday, Aug. 16th at 9 AM from the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's Church, 147 North St., Hingham Square at 10 AM.
Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory would be appreciated to the Franciscan Hospital for Children, 30 Warren St., Brighton, MA 02135 (www.franciscanhospital.org).
