Irma (Maldonado) Abreu, age 77, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013 in FL. She was born on April 2, 1936 in Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Pedro and Gloria (Montanez) Maldonado. She worked as a home health care aid and assistant for the Stavros Agency in Springfield for many years before she retired. She is predeceased by her husband Antonio Abreu. She leaves her daughter Mary Gonzalez of FL; 3 sisters, Gladys Maldonado of Waterbury, CT, Cruz of Puerto Rico and Ana Maldonado of Chicopee; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 2 daughters, Beatriz and Julie Gonzalez and 4 brothers. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Friday, August 9, 2013 from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. with a service starting at 11:00 A.M at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
