Nora Ann Langford
Augusta, GA – Ms. Nora Ann Langford, 75, entered into rest Monday, August 12, 2013.
Ms. Langford earned her BS in Home Economics from the University of Georgia and became a registered dietician after an internship at the Medical College of Virginia. She returned to Augusta for her first job as a dietician at the Medical College of Georgia and soon became Director of Dietetics for MCG where she remained for 30 years. She also served several years as President of the American Dietetics Association.
Family members include her sister: Georgia Catherine Jenkins; nieces: Lariann Chisholm (Philip), Rebecca Ann Mercer (Drew); and great nieces and nephews: Georgia, Kathryn, William, Emerson, Ella, and Avery. She was always known as “Aunt Ran” to her nieces and nephews and it carried through to everyone in her community. We are indebted to her friends in the neighborhood, especially Ron and Jennie Haynes and sons: Matt and Chris for their relentless support and friendship.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Augusta Humane Society, P.O. Box 12035, Augusta, GA 30914.
The family will receive friends Saturday following the graveside service.
