Lawrence R. Moore, Sr. 71 of 5 Smithville Rd., died Friday, Sept. 3 at UMASS Memorial in Worcester. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Yolanda F. (Ferranti) Moore, four sons Lawrence R. Moore, Jr. of Dillon, Col., Andrew J. and his wife Michele Moore of Westborough, Christopher W. and his wife Debra Moore of Charlton and Charles A. and his wife Melissa Moore of Rutland, three brothers Donald and his wife Kim Moore of Houston, Tx., John and his wife Lois Moore of Biloxi, Miss., and Robert and his wife Harriet Moore of Auburn, ten grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Craig, Casandra, Meagan, Katelyn, Erin, Jacob, Elizabeth and Kathryn Moore, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Charles and Alfred Moore and sisters Dorothy Kapulka, Madeline Dube, Lorraine Martellotta and Barbara DeLaurie.Mr. Moore was the night supervisor in the custodial dept. of the Spencer/E.Brookfield Regional School District where he worked for 10 years, retiring in 1999. Previously, he worked for several area contractors for many years. He attended Worcester Boys Trade School and was a longtime member and very active in the Knights of Columbus Council 118 in Spencer. He was a former Minor League Baseball coach in Spencer for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and was an avid reader and Red Sox Fan. He enjoyed travelling.Born in Worcester, he was the son of William and Beatrice (Cardinal) Moore.The funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 6 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will be in Mary,Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer.
