Jean C. (Marcella) Newell, of Plymouth, died on August 11th at home at the age of 64. She is survived by her beloved husband Allen Newell of Plymouth and her daughters Stephanie R. Moore and her husband Craig and Katherine R. Baker and her husband Ross all of Plymouth. She also leaves her sister Ann Marie Paglia and her husband Richard of Marlboro, her 3 grandchildren Logan, Campbell and Olivia and 4 step grandchildren.
Jean was born in Fresno, CA, but grew up in Dedham, Ma and graduated from Dedham High School in 1966. Following high school she attended and successfully completed the Beth Israel School of Dentistry for Dental Assistants in 1967. During her marriage she had the good fortune to live in a number of states including Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio before residing for the balance of her life in Plymouth, Ma. After a long career in Dental Assisting for several Dentists in Hyde Park and Plymouth, she started a new career in medical records and undertook employment with High Point Medical Treatment Facility as their Director of Medical Records. Jean enjoyed cooking, fly fishing, camping, canoeing, and international travel with her husband of over 43 years.
But she cherished greatly her time with her family, and especially her grandchildren. She loved her family and lived for her wonderful grandchildren whom she loved “to the moon and stars” as she was fond to say to them.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 15th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 16th at St. Bonaventure’s Church in Plymouth at 10 AM. A reception is planned at the Pine Hills Country Club following the memorial service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations in her memory be made to the Jennifer Hunter Yates Sarcoma Foundation, PO Box 698, Hudson, MA 01749.
