Bridget (O’Sullivan) Lucey, 84, of Spencer, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 11th in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her husband of 56 years, Jeremiah “Jerry” Lucey; a daughter, Noreen Lucey Fabrycki and her husband Theodore of Fiskdale; a brother Denis O’Sullivan and his wife, Nellie of Kilcummin, County Kerry, Ireland; two sisters, Theresa Brosnan and her husband, Michael of Kilcummin, County Kerry, Ireland and Nora Leary of Worcester; her daughter-in-law, Michelle Lucey; six grandchildren, Jeremiah M. and John P. Lucey, Peter M., Ryan A., Conor J. and Jillian E. Fabrycki; and many nephews and nieces. Her beloved son, Worcester Firefighter Jeremiah A. “Jerry” Lucey, died December 3, 1999 in the Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse fire, along with five other firefighters. She was also predeceased by a brother, Timothy O’Sullivan, and a sister, Margaret Carroll.
Mrs. Lucey was born in Kilcummin, County Kerry, Ireland, the daughter of Denis and Elizabeth (Burke) O’Sullivan and came to Worcester in 1950.
Her funeral is Friday, August 16th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 15th in the funeral home.
