Laura G. (Wightman) Mabey, 78, of Manchester, NH, died Friday, September 3, 2004 in the Hanover Hill Healthcare Center in Manchester. Mrs. Mabey was born in Maryland, NY on September 2, 1926, a daughter of the late Daniel and Lillian Mae (Blenco) Wightman. She was a resident of Manchester since 2002, formerly living in Portsmouth, NH and Westfield, MA for nearly 30 years. She was employed as an office manager for Fred Gillan and Emery Crete in Portsmouth. She volunteered and contributed to the AIDS Society of Portsmouth.
She is survived by her son, Robert G. Mabey of Derry, NH, one sister, Leah Dante of Cobbleskill, NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Velma Moster of Milford, NY.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, Mrs. Mabey will be buried in the Wightman Estate family plot. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
