Regina (Bobrek) Gallagher, 89 of Salem, passed away, Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Devereux House in Marblehead following a long illness. She was the wife of the late William H. Gallagher.
Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Caroline (Matuszezak) Bobrek. As a young woman she first worked for New England Telephone and later for General Electric at the Lynn facility. In 1966 Regina began working in reservations for Northeast Air Lines, which merged with Delta Air Lines in 1972. She worked in both Boston and Florida and retired from Delta as a reservations supervisor in 1990. She was a Delta Pioneer and Yellowbird Alumni.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Franklin and her husband Tom, two sons, William J. Gallagher and his wife Cheryl A., John J. Gallagher and his wife Lauren of Stoneham, a brother, Rev. Dr. Edwin J. Bobrek of Encinitas, CA, a sister, Carolyn Bobrek of East Boston, five grandchildren, Erin Pezzulo, Kelly Papalegis, Darcy Ritter, Justin & Jacqueline Gallagher, as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Lyla Rose & Sienna Pezzulo and Olivia Papalegis. She was predeceased by ten siblings, Rose, Anna, Laura, Edmund, Edward, Veronica, Sophie, Frank, Fred and Helen.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 8:45 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in St. James Church, 156 Federal St., Salem at 10:00 A.M.
