Ann Early Fetner Johnson, 86, of Tifton died Sunday, August 11, 2013, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, in Sylvania Cemetery in Bainbridge. Rev. John Thomas will officiate with burial to follow.
Mrs. Johnson was born on August 19, 1926 in Columbia, South Carolina and was the daughter of Jubal Ransom Early and Ruth Baker Early, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Odell Johnson; the father of her children, William F. Fetner; and two sisters, Mary Hudson and Lola Rawls. She retired from the Department of Defense as an administrative assistant. She was an active member of Recovery United Methodist Church in Bainbridge, where she served on several committees. She was a resident of Bainbridge, before moving to Tifton in 2003. She was active with her husband in the Bainbridge Shriner’s Club and Hasan Shrine Temple. She was also a past officer of the Recovery Volunteer Fire Department.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bryan Phillips of Tifton and Mickey and Steve Reed of Tunnel Hill; four grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie and Michael Loggins, Art Phillips, Brad and Toni Phillips and Katie Phillips; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon Phillips, Drew Russ and Sam Phillips.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to Recovery United Methodist Church, 307 Recovery Road, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
