Obituary

Robert Lee “Bob” Quaite went home to his Lord and Savior on August 8, 2013.
He was born on May 22, 1933 in Louisiana Missouri to William and Josie Quaite. He was blessed to find love twice. In his first marriage of 13 years to Juanita Libby Quaite and as a widower he met Wetona “Toni” Galloway Quaite his wife of 45 years.
Bob proudly served his country for over 20 years. During that time he was recognized by the Governor of the state of Kansas for his help following the Tornado disaster of June 1966. In 1968 he received an Air Force Commendation Medal for the successful completion of a critically needed runway in Thailand. After retiring from the Air Force in 1972 he went on to a 23 year career as a truck driver for Florida Steel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; both his wives Juanita and Toni; his son William L Quaite; and three brothers Arroll, Maynard, and William Quaite.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Aimee Evins of Texas and Crystal Quaite of Alabama; two great grandchildren of Alabama; daughter-in-law, Lindsey Evins of Texas; three sisters-in-law, Millie Quaite of Colorado, Gwendola McEntire of Georgia and Judy Elder of Louisville; two brothers-in-law Gordon and Robert Galloway of Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Mike Quaite, Douglas Elder and Donald Elder.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. Tuesday.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Cloverleaf Baptist Church’s Life Center.
