Ruth Ellen (Van Dalsen) Grimm, 93, of Anderson died August 9, 2013 at Meadowbrooke Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.
She was born December 8, 1919 in Anderson to Cloyd and Nellie (Wood) Van Dalsen.
She graduated from Anderson High School.
She worked at Emge Packing Company for over 30 years before retiring in 1982, where she was a member of Meat Packer's Union.
She was a member of Anderson Business Women and Ivy Rebekah Lodge.
She was an avid needle crafter; she loved Bingo; camping, reading and cross word puzzles.
Survivors include her two daughters, Saundra "Sandy" Niccum of Anderson and Janice (Bob) Stinson of Alexandria; sister, Mary Jane Franks of Daleville; seven grandchildren Jimmie (Vera) Niccum; Joy Stout; Jay Juday; Nichole (Kevin) Greisl; Scott Stinson; Heather (Mark) Fox; Tiffany (Shawn) Yapp; thirteen great grandchildren: Kendra (Jeremy) Alexander; LeAnn Stout; Drew Fox; Jake Fox; Isaac Fox; Hannah Maglalang; Grace Maglalang; Taylor Yapp; Kylie Yapp; Matthew Yapp; Heather Niccum; Jesse Niccum; Scott Niccum; nine great great grandchildren, Sean Niccum; Taylor Niccum; Baylee Niccum; Christopher Niccum; Matthew Niccum; Nathan Niccum; Hayley White; Jason Alexander and Damon Alexander and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry Blaine Grimm; infant son, William Darrell Richey; four brothers, Harry, Wilbur, Hugh and Lee Van Dalsen; two sisters, Constance Key and Mazzie Russell.
Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 13 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Joe Roysden of Valley Grove Free Will Baptist Church officiating. Private burial will take place. A celebration of life will be held at Valley Grove Free Will Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the funeral service.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 12 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.
