Dorothy Opal Lee was born on June 27th 1930, in Pateros, Washington and entered into rest Monday, July 29th 2013, at her home in Prosser. During her 83 years of life, she experienced many things, the most important being a mother and raising her daughters.
She was faced with losing her father at a very young age but despite the difficulties she faced she became a very strong and capable woman. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Over the years she volunteered her time at Hobs, Prosser Senior Center, Prosser Museum, and the Red Door.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Courtney and Cora Mertes; her brothers, Vernon, Johnny, David, and Courtney Jr.; and her sisters, Bertha, May and Louise; and Max Grim, father of their daughters.
She is survived by her daughter, Maxine Steele of Kittitas, WA and her sons. Sean Steele and Rusty Steele and his children, Dakota and Haley all of Kittitas; her daughter, Beverly Christensen and husband, Gordon of Prosser and their children, Brian Weinmann and wife, Barbie and their children, Kayla, William and Brock of Prosser and Jennifer Wing and husband, Adam of Joseph, Oregon and Michelle Christensen and fiancée, Chris of Zambia; and her daughter, Toni McCauley and husband, Dallas, and their daughter, Nicole and her husband, J.D. and their daughter, Kammie, all of Prosser.
