Obituary

CHICOPEE – Howard E. “Robbie” Robinson, 82, of the Fairview section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Monday, August 5, 2013. He passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born in Canton, New York on October 6, 1930, a beloved son of the late Howard G. and Mabel (Endersbee) Robinson. He was raised in Canton, New York and moved to Ludlow around 1952. In 1954, he moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee where he lived for the remainder of his life. He was last employed as a mechanic at the former Sinclair Wire Company in Holyoke. Being a true New Yorker, he was a die hard Yankees and Giants fan. He was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Jeanette I. (Barre) Robinson. They were married on June 26, 1954 at Saint Anne Church in Fairview and were blessed with over 59 years of happiness together. He also leaves his devoted daughters, Diane M. Boisvere and her husband, James, of Chicopee, Joan L. Robinson of Ellington, CT, and Gail A. Dobosz and her husband, David, of Chicopee; his two cherished grandsons, Matthew and Brian Dobosz; his two dear sisters-in-law, Lorraine Curlew and her husband, William, of Chicopee, and Joan Lapierre and her husband, Gerald, of Ludlow; and his many dear nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by seven dear brothers and sisters. His funeral will be held on Friday morning, August 9, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private at a later date at the convenience of his family. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning, August 9, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. before the Mass. His family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, (Springfield), 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
