MANSFIELD - Charles R. Lopes, son of the late Justin and Lucy (Roderick) Lopes, died at Norwood Hospital on Aug. 3, 2013.
He was 75.
Born in Fall River, he was raised in Taunton, and was a graduate of Taunton High School.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
A graduate of Bentley College, Mr. Lopes was employed by the John Hancock Insurance for many years until retiring several years ago.
He was a resident of Walpole for over 40 years.
In his spare time, Mr. Lopes enjoyed photography and the stock market.
Survivors included a sister, Helen Simmons and her husband Leo of Taunton, and three nephews, Brian, Bruce and Matthew Simmons.
Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Aug. 8th at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors between the hours of 6 and 7:30 p.m., prior to the Services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Institute, 44 Binney St. Boston, MA 02215.
