Eugene W. "Gene" Jones
April 8, 1921 to August 5, 2013

Eugene W. "Gene" Jones, 92 of Anderson, died August 5, 2013 at Morrison Woods Health Campus in Muncie, IN.

He was born April 8, 1921 in Henry County, IN to Myron Wayman and Lois (Rinker) Jones.

He graduated from Tefft High School and Lincoln Technical Institute.

He served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II.

He was a lab technician for Delco Remy 20 years before retiring in 1991.

He attended First Church of the Nazarene.

He loved working on cars; taking care of things; and eating breakfast at Frisch's on Thursday morning with his retirement group. He was part of "Forever Friends" group for over 60 years.

He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters & sons-in-law Valerie (Herb) Anderson of Anderson, IN; Melanie (Bill) Krieger of Surprise, AZ; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Jones of Frankton; two sisters, Alberta Williamson of Anderson and Lois (John) Boydston of Tucson, AZ; eight grandchildren, Mara (Zachary) Bowers of Scottsdale, AZ; Jessica (Brent) Hodges of Buckeye, AZ; Nathan Krieger of Surprise, AZ; Jason Krieger of Anderson; Kristen (Derek) Rucker of Lansing, IL; Traci Anderson of Seattle, WA; Nicholas Anderson and Angela Jones both of Anderson, IN; five great-grandchildren, Mason Hodges, Cash Hodges, Marli Hodges, Grant Hodges and Oliver Bowers; two step-grandchildren, Shawn (Miok) Ray and Jamie (Patrick) Lockwitz all of Florida; four step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Mabel (Rickel) "Skip" Jones of Anderson whom he married on Nov. 3, 1951 in Madison County, his son, Gregory Jones in 2008; and his two brothers Robert Jones and Marvin Jones.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday August 9 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Gary Klinger of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, August 8, from 5 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Military graveside rites by VFW Post 266 Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
