Obituary

Theresa S. (Platek) Fox, 92, of Lawrence passed away Wednesday July 31st at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lawrence daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie (Bujak) Platek. Theresa was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. After graduating Theresa enlisted in the US Navy where she served the country in WWII. Upon returning from the service she worked at Lawrence City Hall in the Assessor's Office for 15 years prior to retiring. In her free time Theresa enjoyed knitting, crocheting, shopping at yard sales, cheering on her beloved Celtics, but most of all she was devoted to her friends, family and faith. After a long term illness she has finally made the journey home to be at peace with the Lord and her loving family that have predeceased her.

Theresa is survived by her children Mary Mottolo of Haverhill, Patricia Fox and her husband Robert Morrison of Australia, Carol Kostrzewa and her husband John of Cranston RI, Janice Scott and her husband Michael of Methuen, Raymond Fox and his wife Sandy of Methuen, sisters Adele Moll of Methuen, Jean Zambino and her husband Rocky of Methuen, sisters in law Dolly Platek and Doris Fox both of Methuen, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and life long beloved friends Dorothy Kraft and Jay O'Neil. Theresa is predeceased by her husband Raymond Francis Fox, a brother Joseph Platek, a sister Stella Sapronis and a grandson David Mottolo.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Mary's Church Wednesday August 7th at 10 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lazarus House Ministries PO Box 408 Lawrence MA 01842, http://www.lazarushouse.org/, Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack St. BLDG 9 Lawrence, MA 01843, or to ones charity of choice. The Fox family is very grateful for the loving care she received at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, especially the spiritual care and the care provided by Merrimack Valley Hospice.
