Obituary

Lillian Laura Albrecht Woodbridge, 91, of Tifton, formerly of Scranton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Southern Care Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013, with Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Avenue, Scranton, Pennsylvania. Rev. Joseph Sica will officiate with burial to follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Peckville, Pennsylvania. Relatives and friends who will be attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to the church. Friends may call on Thursday, August 8, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Stefanelli Funeral Home, Inc., 721 South Main Street, Taylor, Pennsylvania. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church in Tifton.

Mrs. Woodbridge was born on January 10, 1922 in Scranton, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late William A. and Hedwig Schmidt Albrecht. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald A Woodbridge, who passed away on January 9, 2009; a grandson, Ronald Green; four brothers, Thomas, Paul, William and George Albrecht; and four sisters, Rose Greco, Heddy Nealon, Hilda Mangan and Karoline Albrecht. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Scranton, Pennsylvania and she was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Scranton, Pennsylvania and also Our Divine Savior Catholic Church in Tifton. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a seamstress in area dress factories and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She loved sewing, camping and traveling and especially spending time with her family.

Mrs. Woodbridge is survived by her son, Donald W. Woodbridge and his companion Sharon Rowlands of Fort Myers, Florida; two daughters and one son-in-law, Carol Ruth Green and Jacqueline “Jackie” and Robert Gurz, all of Tifton; two sisters, Therese Shusta of Scranton, Pennsylvania and Irene Giordano of Cape Coral, Florida; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
