Obituary

Albert J. Alosso, Sr., of Somerville, died Wednesday, in the Whidden Memorial Hospital. He was 74.

Mr. Alosso was born and raised in Medford, the son of the late John and the late Elizabeth (Scali) Alosso. Early in life Albert worked as a milkman for Sunnyhurst Dairy. He served with the Army Reserve for four years. Albert worked many years, before retiring, with General Foods. Albert was a great fishing enthusiast and champion deep-sea fisherman, winning acclaim for catching a 216 lb. Halibut. He was also a member of the Retired Men’s Club of Arlington.

Albert was the beloved husband of Marianna (Gramolini). He was a devoted father of Albert J. , Jr., David F. both of Somerville, Joseph N. of Vineyard Haven and loving grandfather of 6. He was the brother of Thomas of Medford, Rocco and James Alosso of Arlington, the late Mary Femia, Rose Donovan, Nicholas, Joseph, Frank and Salvatore Alosso and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may visit Friday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, Saturday at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
