Obituary

Etheleen Tyson Garrison, 95, of Marshallville, formerly of Tifton, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, August 1, 2013, at The Oaks Nursing and Personal Care Home in Marshallville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013, in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma. Rev. Christy Bandy will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Elder Charles Tyson will officiate with burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Garrison was born on February 17, 1918 in Ashburn and was the daughter of Joseph Thomas Tyson and Polly Ann Elizabeth Swafford Tyson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Andrew Garrison and 28 siblings. Mrs. Garrison was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Old Valley Grove Baptist Church in Irwinville.

Mrs. Garrison is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Margean and Gable Thompson of Vero Beach, Florida, Joyce and Robert Robinson of Quitman and Glennie Barr of Marshallville; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
