Janis Kusins of Duxbury passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2013. Born in Kalupe, Latvia on December 09, 1920, Janis served in the Latvian Legion on the Russian Front. He met Aina, his wife of 65 years, when he was wounded in battle and hospitalized in Germany. They came to America in 1951 and started their family shortly after. They moved to Duxbury in 1958 where they spent the remainder of their lives.
He was predeased by his wife, Aina (Mucenieks) Kusins and daughter, Aija Kusins-Augis. He is survived by his son Erik and wife, Janet of Duxbury; his son Ronalds and his wife Judy of Orleans; his son Valters and his wife Margaret of Duxbury; and son-in-law Peter Augis of Westwood. He also leaves 7 grandchildren; Kristine, Erik and his wife, Amelia, Maruta, Jake, Mikelis, Mara and Mia and 2 great grandchildren, Madeleine and Michael.
