Manchester– Mary “Bessie” B. Roy, 81, died July 31, 2013 at CRVNA Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Somersworth, NH on December 13, 1931 the daughter of James and Athanasia Karakostas.
Prior to her retirement she had worked for W.T. Grants Department Store and for many years as a caretaker. She possessed a unique personality and never complained no matter what the situation. She was loved and will be missed by all.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Roy on April 13, 1994, a grandson, Jeremy Roy, a brother Chris Karakostas and a sister Kiki Laird both of Portsmouth.
Family members include three children, Ronald Roy, Judith Landry, Gary Roy all of Manchester, two sisters Stella LaRose of New Castle, and Anna Oliver of Manchester, one brother John Karakostas of Bedford, five grandsons, Gregory Landry, Douglas Landry, Jason Roy, Justin Roy, Jason M. Landry, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. .
A committal service will take place on Wednesday at 1 PM in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
