Obituary

West Bridgewater – Max Hamalian 88, formerly of Bridgewater, died Tuesday July 30 after a brave battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Rose (Kashgagian) Hamalian.

Born in Chelsea he was the son of the late Harry and Grace (Dodakian) Hamalian.

Max was a proud Veteran of World War II having served in the US Army from 1943-1945 as an Artillery Mechanic for heavy antiaircraft.

Before his move to West Bridgewater 25 years ago, Max had been a resident of Bridgewater for over 30 years where he had owned and operated Myles Standish Cleaners and Drapery Company for over 40 years.

He had enjoyed his many trips to the “Casinos” but his greatest pleasure was the time spent with his devoted family surrounding him.

In addition to his wife Rose he is survived by his loving children Richard Hamalian and his wife Stacy of West Bridgewater, Robert Hamalian and his wife Linda of North Easton, and Donna Capozzi and her husband Edmund of Lakeville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he adored, Steven Maleski, and Robert Jr., Aram, Gregory and Mark Hamalian and his great granddaughter Alissa Maleski, as well as nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late H. Michael Hamalian and brother of the late Martin and Howard Hamalian.

His funeral service will be held Monday August 5 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held Sunday August 4 from 2-5 PM.
