Walter E. Atwood, Jr. age 66 of Stoughton passed away July 31st at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Boston, he was raised in Wollaston and graduated from Arch Bishop Williams High School in Braintree and Providence College. He was the Owner of D & M Oxygen Co. in Readville for many years and also ran W.E. Atwood Consulting in Stoughton before retiring. Walter was an extremely outgoing social person who made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed spending time at Luciano’s in Wrentham on Friday night and Rosario’s in Canton on Sunday nights. He also enjoyed spending his summers at Long Pond in Plymouth. Beloved brother of Janet Wiederhold of Stoughton. Uncle of Linda and Brandon Bethea and their daughter Finley of N.Y. and Laura and John Gillespie and their daughters Ella and Allison of Canton. Also survived by his lifelong friends Richard Pedrelli and Glenn Caterer both of Quincy. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service the funeral home Monday morning at 10:30. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
