Obituary

Freedman, Kenneth “Ken,” of Worcester and formerly of Chelsea passed away on July 29. He was the beloved husband of Connie Connors and the devoted father of Kristin Freedman; the loving son of Sidney and Lillian “Libby” Freedman; the dear brother of Judith Sternbane, and Steven Freedman and his wife Linda; and the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and a great-nephew.

Ken was born in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1962. He graduated from Northeastern University and received a master’s degree in history from Bridgeport University before earning a law degree at New England Law. He was a beloved teacher and mentor at ITT Technical Institute.

Ken was known for his sense of humor and his passion for New England sports teams. He loved movies, cars, and all kinds of music. He was very active at Temple Sinai in Brookline and held many positions there. But most of all, he was a wonderful father and devoted to his family and friends.

Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Avenue, Chelsea, on Friday, August 2 at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment in West Roxbury. Memorial observance at his late residence on Friday following interment, Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m., with a minyan at 4:00. Contributions in Ken’s memory may be made to Temple Sinai Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund or the Temple Education Fund, 50 Sewall Avenue, Brookline, MA 02446.
