Mrs. Eileen J. (Keenan) Alsup of Andover, died at the Academy Manor Nursing Center on Monday, July 29, 2013. She was 91 years old. She was the wife of the late Floyd T. Alsup.
Born in Lawrence on February 13, 1922, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles F. and Julia (Qualter) Keenan. Mrs. Alsup was a proud WWII Navy veteran.
She was a longtime communicant and eucharistic minister at St. Augustine Church in Andover and also volunteered at many senior groups in Andover. She was a member of the American Legion, Post 417 and formerly resided at Andover Commons.
She was the loving mother of Glen J. and his wife Margaret Alsup of Newton, New Hampshire, Kevin Alsup of Andover, Butch and his wife Michelle Alsup of Salem, New Hampshire, Paul Alsup of Delray Beach, Florida and Julie M. and her husband Kevin P. Willett of Haverhill; a brother, Charles Keenan and his wife, Mary of Lawrence and her sister, Kathleen Brennan of Methuen; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, John C. Brennan.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Calling hours were held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, from 5 to 8 PM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Interment was held in the St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
