- Don M. Ingraham, Sr., 92, passed away following a brief illness on July 30, 2013 in Kaplan Family Hospice House, in Danvers. He was the loving husband of Thelma (Moser) Ingraham with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Mr. Ingraham was a lifelong resident of Danvers. He was a longtime manager of C.F. Tompkins Furniture Co in Danvers and Beverly, where he had been employed for over 55 years. Don was a graduate from Holten High School and went on the serve his country with the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged.
Mr. Ingraham served his town as a Selectman and as a Trustee of the former Hunt Memorial Hospital. He was a longtime member and director of the Danvers Rotary Club, a Director of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce and Trustee and member of the Board of Investments of the former Danvers Savings Bank. He had been a member of the Maple Street Congregational Church and a thirty five year member of the Union Club in Beverly.
Besides his wife Thelma, he is survived by five children, Patricia and James Roberts of Danvers, Carol Larkin of Danvers, Jeannie and Charles Ciman of Rowley, Mark Ingraham of Dracut, Robert Ingraham of NC and his daughter-in-law Carolyn Ingraham of VT, five grandchildren, Stephen Larkin and Jeannie Cashman, Anna Ingraham, Michael Ciman and Brad Ingraham and five great grandchildren, Courtney, John and Christopher Cashman and Olivia and Ian Larkin. He was predeceased by his son Don M. Jr. and brothers, Roger, Raymond and Charles Ingraham.
His Funeral Service will be celebrated at noon on Friday, August 2, 2013 in Maple Street Congregational Church, 90 Maple St, Danvers. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pine St, W. Peabody. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Danvers Rotary Trust, P.O.
