Obituary

WESTFIELD – Harold H. “Hank” Wisner, Jr., 72, of Westfield was Called Safely Home on Thursday, July 25, 2013. He passed into Eternal Life at Noble Hospital in Westfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born at home in Worthington, Massachusetts on May 23, 1941, a beloved son of the late Harold H. Wisner, Sr. and Mildred I. (Quigley) Wisner. He lived in Southampton, Ludlow and Chicopee before moving to Westfield around 2005. He graduated from local schools and then furthered his education by receiving an Associate’s Degree. He was employed by the City of Chicopee as a Vocational Instructor in Auto Body Repair and later worked as a courier for 15 years at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield before retiring in 2007. During his leisure time, Hank enjoyed the outdoors where he spent time hunting, fishing and camping at the Granville Campgrounds. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving son, Stephen Wisner; and his two step-brothers and his step-sister. He leaves his beloved wife who was his best friend, Ann M. (Blanchard) Wisner; his loving sons, Wayne Wisner of Chicopee and David Wisner of Holyoke; his loving step-sons, James Scribner and his wife, Tracy, of Ludlow, Robert Scribner and his wife, Cathy, of Chicopee and Michael Scribner of Chicopee; his 16 cherished grandchildren; his two cherished great-granddaughters; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family members. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.). His burial will follow the service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family has requested that memorial donations be made in his memory to the American Liver Foundation, 88 Winchester Street, Newton, MA 02461.
