Devoted mother of Julie M. Fleming, Carolyn M. Fruci, Son-in-law Jeff Fruci, of Westport, MA and James E. Fleming of Newton, MA. Loving Nana of Michael and Ryan Fruci of Westport, MA.
Sister of the late Anne Ward of West Hills, CA. Loving sister-in-law of Donald and Nancy Fleming of Mattapoisett, MA. She is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews.
Carolyn "Lyn" was born in Boston and raised in Wellesley. Lyn graduated from the Academy of the Assumption in 1950 and Wellesley College in 1954. She received an M.Ed from BU in 1956 and began a teaching career in Massachusetts and New York public schools. She last taught at the Charles River School in Dover. Lyn was very active in the community. She was the president of the Wellesley Junior Women's Club, president of the Newton Wellesley Alliance for the Mentally Ill and on the board of Riverside. Lyn was a wonderful wife and mother whose smile and personality lit up the lives of all who came her way, even as Alzheimer's gradually took her away. She will be fondly remembered and missed by classmates, friends, co-workers and her family.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 477 Washington St. (RT. 16) WELLESLEY Tuesday at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wellesley at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday from 5-8pm. Interment private.
