Obituary

Charles R. “Bob” Willett, age 82, of Halifax, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, July 26, 2013.

Loving husband of 56 years to the late Julie (Harvey) Willett. Devoted father of Charles Willett and his wife Melva of New Hampshire, John Willett of Plymouth, Diane Willett of Sandwich, Joseph Willett of Plymouth, Matthew Willett and his wife Heidi of Carver, Mary Willett of Halifax, Christopher Willett of Halifax, Donna Kelleher and her husband Todd of Pepperell. Loving grandfather of Bob, Michelle, Matthew, McKayla, Anna, Maria, Dillon and Brennan. Beloved brother of Charlotte Langione and her late husband Mario of Dedham, Helen Hoban of Dedham, Joan Gorell and her late husband Dick of California and the late Marilyn Logan and her late husband Robert of Middleboro, his sister-in-law Catherine Harvey of Braintree, brother-in-law James Harvey and his wife Elizabeth of Weymouth and his late sister-in-law Joan and her late husband James Morrissy of Hanover. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Deacon.

He was a daily communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Monponsett and had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. He attended the Hanson Multi Service Day Program, where he enjoyed playing Bingo, Cribbage and spending many hours talking with friends. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing horseshoes.

He was an Air Force Veteran, a retired underground splicer with the Boston Edison for 44 years, and a founding member of the IBEW Local 369.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation period on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, from 10:00-10:45 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 580 Monponsett Street, (Route 58), Halifax, followed by his funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow at the Central Cemetery, Hemlock Lane, Halifax.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360. Their caring and loving support allowed Bob to die with dignity at home.
