Virginia A. (Wilkinson) Gamache, 80, of Dartmouth died Friday July 26, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Gamache; they had been married for 52 years.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Robert and Marjorie (Delano) Wilkinson, she lived in East Freetown for many years until moving to Dartmouth in 1991.
Mrs. Gamache was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for 7-Up Bottling Company and States Nitewear.
She was a past president of the Sol-E-Mar Social Club.
She was a graduate of Holy Name Grammar School and New Bedford High School.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Gamache of South Dartmouth and Sandra Mello of Lakeville; two grandchildren, Christopher Mello and Jessica Teixeira and her husband Kenny; and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Camden Joseph Teixeira.
She was the sister of the late Charles and John Wilkinson.
Her family will receive visitors at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday from 9-10 AM. A private family burial service will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
