Obituary


Ruth Ham Harrell passed away on July 25, 2013, just one month shy of her 93rd birthday. Born on Aug 20, 1920 in Rochelle, GA to Clifford W. and Mary Elizabeth Webber Ham, she was the youngest of 5 siblings. She later moved to Brunswick, GA where she graduated from Glynn Academy High School.

She married Sheldon W. Harrell in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1962. She went on to have a successful career at Kut Kwick Corporation for 25+ years. She moved back to Rebecca, GA and after a brief retirement she returned to work in the Turner County Courthouse and live in Ashburn, GA. She retired finally from her position as Chief Deputy Clerk of Superior Court in 2000 at the age of 80. In 2010 at the age of 90 she moved to The Blair House Senior Living in Macon, GA.

She is survived by her daughter, Mallie Ruth Harrell of Decatur, GA and extended family daughter Karen Cribb Stewart of Macon, GA; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also a special loving niece, Beth Reynolds of Ashburn, GA.
Her gentle spirit, generous heart and great sense of humor will be remembered by all whom she touched in life.

Memorial services in celebration of life for Ruth Ham Harrell, will be held Friday, August 2, 2013, at 11:00am in the Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn, GA. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Advantage www.hospiceadvantage.net or to the American Heart Association.
