Obituary

Russell R. Tanguay, 68, of Manchester died July 20, 2013 at his residence after a sudden illness.
Born on March 28, 1945, in Manchester, he was the son of Ernest and Aurore (Gagnon) Tanguay.
Prior to retirement due to disability, Russell proudly served in the US Marine Corps for many years. He served numerous tours in Vietnam and in many additional military campaigns.
He was past commander of the NH Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and enjoyed volunteering his time to support other veterans in need. He was also an active member of the Marine Corps League. He loved making puzzles and models and will be remembered for his devotion to his Marine Corp, country, family, and many friends.
Family members include his sons, Daniel Tanguay and wife Lisa of Manchester, Arthur Tanguay of Laconia, Jonathan Tanguay of Bartlett; daughters, Nina Marie Tanguay of North Carolina and Katherine MacArthur and husband Daniel of Manchester; his grandchildren, Zandra Blankenship and Kevin Massie, Austin Tanguay, Tara Cunningham, Kennan MacArthur; his former wife, Lillian (Erskine) Tanguay of Manchester; brothers, Gerard Tanguay and wife Priscilla of Manchester, Richard Tanguay and wife Louise of Goffstown, Donald Tanguay of Bedford, Normand Tanguay and wife Diane of Manchester; sisters, Lorraine Bellemore of Merrimack, Simone Simard and husband Robert of Londonderry, Vivian Blondeau and husband Raymond of Goffstown, Susan Clinton of Manchester; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Elm St. Committal prayers followed in NH State Veterans Cemetery where military honors were accorded.
