Mrs. Florine Young Taylor
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, July 24, 2013, Florine Young Taylor, 86, wife of the late Robert M. Taylor II.
Mrs. Taylor was the valedictorian of Blythe High School, Class of 1944. She made Richmond County and the Augusta area home her entire lifetime. She was an ordained member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, where she previously served as Deacon and Elder. She enjoyed working in the church sponsored soup kitchen for many years. Mrs. Taylor worked briefly as a substitute teacher for the Richmond County School System and several years at The Tompkins Company in Augusta.
Family members include her children: Robert M. Taylor III (Carol) of Augusta, GA, Thomas P. Taylor (Connie) of Jefferson, GA, and Carole T. Ingram (Craig) of Beaufort, SC; sisters: Willine Barnes of North Augusta, SC, Barbara Hundley of Blythe, GA; half-brothers: Gerald James of Aiken, SC, Danny James of Augusta, GA; and half-sister Helen Floyd of Richmond, VA. Mrs. Taylor is also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers will include: Barry Barnes, Andy Hundley, John Raborn, Brad Raborn, Veto Corrandino and Taylor Ingram.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet with Rev. Robert Hunt and Rev. Ed Rees officiating. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
