William H. O’Leary
O’Leary, William H (Bill) in San Diego California, formerly of Jamaica Plain, Newton and Westwood MA, June 30th 2013. Pre-deceased by his wife, Nancy, sister Betty Ginzler, and brothers Joe and Rollo. Much loved and loving father of Barbara, Billy and his wife Jane, Margaret and Nancy (Flower) and her husband Doug Tuer. Adored and adoring grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 4 adorable little boys. Bill was born in the Mission Hill section of Boston on Jan 9, 1924 and attended Mission High School. He was a Naval Aviator in World War II, and then settled in Jamaica Plain where he ran a Real Estate and Insurance business and raised his family. He later moved to Newton then Westwood and finally to sunny San Diego, but always considered himself a Bostonian (especially with regard to the Sox, Celtics and Patriots). He was an accomplished athlete all his life and excelled in the Senior Olympics, gathering many gold medals in basketball and race walking. He was astoundingly active and hearty until the last few years and then was gently assisted by his family, and care-taker, Linda Cordova. He will be deeply missed and remembered lovingly by his family and friends. A funeral mass will be at Mission Church on August 2nd, 10AM, then burial at the Forest Hills Cemetary. All are invited.
