Bridget Josephine (Mullowney) Curley, 93, passed away on July 17, 2013. Born in Newfoundland and raised on Nantucket Island, she was the daughter of Maurice Mullowney and Philomena (Davis) Mullowney.
She married Walter (Bud) Curley in 1947 and they were married for 54 years. Bud died in 2002.
An infant son, Steven, predeceased her. She leaves 5 children: Michael Curley of Hyannis, MA, Patricia Gordon of Springfield, VA, Ellen Curley and her husband William Egan of Boston, MA, Peter Curley and his wife Carolina of Longwood, FL, and Mary Taubert and her husband Fred of Millbury, MA. She also leaves 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews and 3 nieces.
Bridget enjoyed; her family, painting, traveling, volunteering and gardening. She had a rare curiosity about the world and a good sense of humor.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Bridget's life on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Wilson Chapel at the Beechwood Inn in Worcester. A luncheon will follow. There are no calling hours. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the arts/activities program at the Christopher Heights Assisted Living Facility, 20 Mary Scano Dr., Worcester, MA 01605.
