Ann M. (Apel) Kelley, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 76 years old.
Ann was born in Cambridge on October 31, 1936, a daughter of the late Frederick Apel and Mary (O'Connor) Apel. Ann grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School. Ann enjoyed vacationing at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire and most importantly spending quality time with her family.
Ann is the beloved and devoted wife of 56 years to Francis X. "Frank" Kelley. She is the devoted mother of Ann Marie Kelley of Charlestown, Francis X. "Frank" Kelley Jr. of Holbrook, Daniel D. Kelley of Charlestown, Nancy Trant of Stoneham, Jean Marie Nabstedt of Medford and Timothy P. Kelley of Charlestown. She is the loving Grandma to 11 grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of the late Mary Almquist and Frances Wilson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ann's Funeral on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
