Mr. Bruce L. Fairhurst, of Taunton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 17 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Kathy (Jutras) Fairhurst. He was born 57 years ago in Fall River, the son of Rose (Freitas) Barboza and her husband, John, and the late James A. Fairhurst, III. He was educated in Somerset and had been a Taunton resident for the past 24 years. He was recently employed at Kohl’s Department Store in Taunton for the past year. He was previously employed as Maintenance Supervisor for Marian High School in Framingham for 15 years. Bruce was a frequent visitor of the Progressive Club in Somerset. He enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming, cooking and, especially, playing with his granddaughters.
In addition to his wife and his mother, he leaves: 1 son: Nathan Fairhurst of Taunton; 1 stepson: Christopher Hayden of Taunton; 2 stepdaughters: Jaime Corriea of Taunton and Laura Hayden and her husband, Michael Agostini of Taunton; 2 sisters: Christal Clauer and her husband, George of Portsmouth, R.I., and Heidi Rae Johnston and her husband, Douglas of Calif.; 2 granddaughters: Prudence and Adelaide Agostini, 1 aunt and several nieces and nephews. Bruce was also the brother of the late James A. Fairhurst, IV, and Scott Fairhurst.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home Taunton.
