Obituary

CHICOPEE - Lisa-Beth M. (Majercik) Guilbeau, 45, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield after a valiant battle, surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family who were her devoted caregivers. She was born in Southbridge on May 16, 1968, a beloved daughter of Richard D. Majercik and Elaine C. (Allen) Solock. Her early years were spent in Southbridge before moving to Chicopee in 1976. She graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School, received an Associate's Degree from Holyoke Community College and was a resident of Chicopee for the remainder of her life. She was a well known waitress at Spiro's Restaurant, which is now Angelo's, on Grattan Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee. During her leisure time, Lisa-Beth enjoyed boating, crocheting, and painting. She was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her devoted husband and best friend, James R. Guilbeau. They were married on September 20, 1994 in Chicopee and enjoyed over 15 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving children, Gregory J. Guilbeau and Carley Jean Guilbeau, both of Chicopee; her loving father, Richard D. Majercik and her step-mother, Debra Durant of Webster; her loving mother, Elaine C. (Allen) Solock and her husband, Joseph, of Chicopee; her brother, Rick Majercik of North Oxford; her half-sister, Sabryna J. Solock of Holyoke; her step-sisters, AnnMarie Chaput of Agawam, and Julie Solock, of Chicopee; her uncles, Dr. Donald Majercik, M.D. and his wife, Pat, of Vermont, and Gregory Allen and his wife, Lori, of Southbridge; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Dorothy Silva of Chicopee; her sister-in-law, Lisa Foley and her husband, Tim, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, July 23, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee. Her burial will be private at the convenience of her family. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Shriners Hospital for Children, (Springfield), 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or to Lorraine's Soup Kitchen, 170 Pendexter Avenue, Chicopee, MA 01013.
