Marie G. “Mamie” (Gill) Alioto died peacefully at the Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge in the company of her loving family. She was 83.
A life-long Medford resident, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Taibi) Gill. A devoted and loving wife and mother, Mamie enjoyed the company of her family and friends, but most especially her grandchildren. In her earlier years, she worked as a stitcher in the garment industry but for the past 28 years worked as a clerk in the Cambridge Family Probate Court.
The beloved wife of the late Anthony F. Alioto, she was a devoted mother to Maria Dolfi of Medford, her friend John Benoit and mother-in-law of Michael Dolfi of Medford. She leaves her loving grandchildren: Taylor Dolfi and Michael Dolfi, Jr. as well as her loving great-grandson, Amari. The sister of Dominic DeVito of California and the late Albert Gill, Mamie also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Saturday, July 20th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 9 PM.
