Obituary

Holden - Barbara (Tatro) Hastings, 86, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013. She leaves her husband of 62 years, Leonard Hastings Sr., her son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Sandra Hastings Jr. of Holden, six grandchildren, Dana Hastings and his companion Estella Sykes of Worcester, Tracey Hogan and her husband Bradford of Worcester, Brian Hastings and his wife Elizabeth of Sutton, Shellie Hastings of Holden, Robert Brandt of Worcester, and Katherine Gagnon of Worcester; nine great-grandchildren, among them Lindsay, Zachary, Nathan, Allison, Erin, and Megan; and many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Doris Szaban, predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Bertha, George, James, Phyllis, Richard, and Robert.

She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Doris M. (Smith) and George L. Tatro Jr. She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Auburn for more than 50 years. Barbara enjoyed bingo, cards, and spending time with family. Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Thursday, July 18, from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at Nordgren's Friday, July 19, at 10 am. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Donations may be made to the "Memorial Fund" at Faith Baptist Church 22 Faith Avenue Auburn MA 01501.
