Ellen M. (Elvin) Johnson, 66, of Medway, died Monday, July 15, 2013 at the Blaire House of Milford. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence T. Johnson who died in 2011.
Born in Boston on June 21, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Gustaf and Loretta (Raftery) Elvin.
Mrs. Johnson was a resident of Medway since 1977.
She was a graduate of the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing and had worked as a registered nurse at several Boston area hospitals.
Mrs. Johnson was an active parishioner at St. Joseph Church in Medway and had played the guitar in the choir. She enjoyed drawing and writing poetry.
She is survived by two daughters, Tara Johnson of Medway and Caitlyn Johnson, three grandchildren, Brent Field, Helena-Marie Johnson and Vincenzo Johnson, a brother Paul Elvin of West Roxbury and a sister Kathleen Tormey of Medfield.
She was the sister of the late Peter Elvin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, July 20 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 - 8 p.m.
Burial will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date
