John D. "J. D." Kavich

John D. "J.D." Kavich, 94, of Anderson, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 13, 2013. He was born on March 3, 1919, in Louisville, KY, the son of Edward and Blanche (Aldridge) Kavich. A graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary, he was a retired United Methodist minister who pastored churches in Indianapolis, New Albany, and Laurel, Indiana.
Survivors include his two children, Jean (husband Calvin) Bloom and David (wife Tammy) Kavich, all of Anderson. 5 grandchildren: Amanda (husband Nathan) Briggs, Adam Bloom, Matthew (wife Amber) Bloom, Ryan (wife Bethany) Kavich, and Andrew Kavich. 7 great-grandchildren: Constance, James, and Benjamin Briggs; Norah and Holden Kavich; Eliana and Simon Bloom. 1 brother: Frank Kavich of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce K. (McPherson) Kavich on March 24, 2008, and 4 siblings.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013, at 11:30 AM at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11 AM on Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
