87, passed away peacefully July 8, 2013 at the Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston. Family had been with her most most of the day of her death. She was born and grew up in Belmont, into a family with a very musical background. She enjoyed both the piano and violin during her earlier years with lessons at the New England Conservatory of Music. Although a long time resident of Belmont, she spent 26 years living at the Farnsworth House in Jamaica Plain. Everyone who came in contact with her at the Farnsworth remarked about her upbeat, positive personality. They will are miss her. Beset with medical issues most of her life, she met them with a strong, unyielding spirit. Her illnesses impacted her quality of life but she was determined to minimize the impact to her. She was a fighter. Mary was predeceased by her Father and Mother: Frederick P. Fandel and Theresa J. (Boemer) Fandel, Brother: Joseph P. Fandel and Sister: Dorothea Marie Fenton. She is survived by her nieces: Dorothea (Fenton) Audet of Sturbridge and Kathleen (Fenton) Muscarella of Plymouth and by her nephew: Paul H. Fenton of Bath, Maine. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Jamaica Plain at a future date to be determined.
