Robert Lee "Bob" Edwards, Jr., 82, of Tifton died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Jason Jones will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The deacons of New River Baptist Church in Tifton will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Edwards was born on June 5, 1931 in Cuthbert and was the son of Robert Lee Edwards, Sr. and Irma Edwards, both deceased. He was retired from the Civil Service and was a member of New River Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Wynelle Hobbs Edwards of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Robert and Laura Edwards of Centennial, Colorado; two step-sons, Dudley Grimes of Tifton and Philip Grimes and wife Jane of Tifton; one step-daughter, Melanie Grimes of Tifton; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
