David I. Johnson of Sherborn passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Natick. He was 89 years of age.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts on April 28, 1924, he was the son of the late Olaf & Hilda Johnson. David attended Sawin Academy in Sherborn and Northeastern University before working as a Technical Writer at Raytheon for over forty-six years. He was a member of the Pilgrim Church of Sherborn, the Middlesex Mason Lodge of Framingham and the Shriners. Mr. Johnson enjoyed the outdoors, the woods, farming, gardening, fishing, skiing and volunteered with the town of Sherborn for their annual parades.
He was the devoted husband of Ruth C. (Aronson) Johnson with whom he shared forty-four years of marriage. He was the loving father of David I. Johnson, Jr. & Sandy of Millbury, Dana S. Johnson & Linda of Hopkinton, Douglas M. Johnson of Worcester & Eric V. Johnson & Becky of Sherborn. Cherished grandfather of Kris Johnson of Hopkinton, Timothy Johnson & Petra of Natick & David L. Johnson & Penny of Oregon. Great grandfather of Juniper Davida Johnson and caring brother of the late Robert Johnson & his late wife Elsa.
A Memorial Service & Celebration of David’s life will be held in the Pilgrim Church, 25 S. Main St., Sherborn on Saturday, July 20th at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Interment is private. Arrangements by the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home 4 Park St., at Natick Common.
